Long out-of-print, Old Roads still acts as a comprehensive guide to the network of routes that cross the county. This Companion turns Good’s detailed descriptions and line drawings into a map that can be used alongside the book. It’s also useful in its own right: thanks to the range of places that are also shown, the map is a helpful aid in the study of medieval and early modern Dorset.

Modern roads and railways are also displayed for reference.

The reverse of the map provides an overview to Good's book, alongside a breakdown showing how the old roads survive today. An index is also included.
